A Flood Risk Assessment (FRA) was carried out to support planning for this residential scheme, as the site exceeded 1 hectare and required surface water discharge to the public network.
The drainage strategy was designed to manage runoff from a 1 in 100-year storm event plus climate change, incorporating SuDS features, attenuation storage, and hydro-brake flow control. The system directs runoff to the existing network at a controlled rate, ensuring the development remains safe from flooding and does not increase flood risk elsewhere, in full compliance with national and local drainage policies.
