We delivered the detailed design for highway widening works at Pinfold Lane Manchester Airport, undertaken as part of the RIB4 programme. The project involved a vehicle swept path analysis to assess the manoeuvrability of operational vehicles and determine the required turning radii.
The existing access road was widened to accommodate these vehicle movements, while the highway design ensured level tie-ins with the existing infrastructure. Surface water management was also a key consideration, with the design accounting for surface runoff and integration into the existing stormwater drainage network.
